Mods
At its heart, our server is vanilla Minecraft. We’re running Minecraft 26.3 on Fabric, and the game you play is the Minecraft you know. On the server side we only use a handful of light tweaks and datapacks that improve performance, add a little life to the world and make building more fun. These work automatically the moment you join.
On top of that, we’ve put together a set of Fabric client modpacks as extras. They add things like proximity voice chat, better performance, nicer visuals and handy quality-of-life features. Think of them as a way to get even more out of the server.
You don’t need any mods to play. You can join with a completely vanilla Minecraft client and everything works. The modpacks are purely optional for players who want a bit more.
The client mods are split into three groups: Essentials give you the full server experience, Comfort makes playing smoother and more convenient, and Extras are bonus visuals, sounds and tweaks you can add to taste. Below you’ll find every mod and datapack we use, with a short description of what it does.
Installing with Prism Launcher
Our modpack downloads are made for Prism Launcher, a free and open-source launcher for Minecraft. It keeps every modpack in its own separate instance, so your normal Minecraft stays untouched, and setting up a pack takes just a few clicks.
- Download and install Prism Launcher from prismlauncher.org, and log in with your Microsoft account.
- Download one of the modpack below. You don’t need to unzip it.
- In Prism Launcher, click Add Instance, choose Import and select the downloaded file. You can also simply drag the file into the Prism window.
- Launch the new instance and join the server from the Multiplayer menu.
Client Modpacks
Essentials
These mods are the core of the pack. Install these to hear and talk to other players, and to see everything the way it’s meant to look.
| Mod | Description |
|---|---|
| Continuity | Adds connected textures, so blocks like glass and bookshelves blend together seamlessly when placed next to each other (with a supporting resource pack). |
| Entity Model Features | Adds support for custom entity models from resource packs (the OptiFine CEM format), such as Fresh Animations. Required for many popular mob-model packs. |
| Entity Texture Features | Adds support for advanced entity texture features from resource packs, like random mob variants and emissive (glowing) textures. Works together with Entity Model Features. |
| Fishing Leveling | Adds a fishing progression system: the more you fish, the higher your level. Higher levels mean faster bites, less rod durability use and extra loot (open the menu with K). |
| Iris | Shader mod that lets you use shader packs (such as Complementary or BSL) for realistic lighting, shadows and water. Works together with Sodium. |
| Mod Menu | Adds a Mods button to the main and pause menus, where you can see all installed mods and open their settings. |
| Simple Voice Chat | Proximity voice chat: you hear other players based on how close they are to you in-game. Also supports private group calls. Required to join voice on the server. |
| Sound Physics Remastered | Adds realistic reverb, echo and sound muffling based on your surroundings. Caves echo, and sounds behind walls sound muffled. Also works with voice chat. |
| Status | Lets you set a status such as “Do not disturb”, “Open to chat” or “Recording”, which is shown to other players. Also marks players who are AFK. |
Comfort
Not essential, but these make the game smoother, faster and more convenient. We recommend installing all of them.
| Mod | Description |
|---|---|
| 3D Skin Layers | Renders the outer layer of player skins (hats, sleeves, jackets) in 3D instead of as a flat texture. |
| AppleSkin | Shows how much hunger and saturation a food item restores, and displays your current saturation on the hunger bar. Makes it much easier to pick the right food. |
| Better Snow Coverage | Makes snow render underneath plants and other small blocks, so snowy biomes look properly covered instead of patchy. |
| BetterF3 | Replaces the cluttered F3 debug screen with a cleaner, colour-coded and customisable version that’s much easier to read. |
| Chat Heads | Shows the player’s head next to their name in chat, so you can see at a glance who said what. |
| Connectivity Mod | Fixes a range of networking issues such as timeouts and packet-size errors, so players get disconnected less often, especially on modded servers. |
| Controlling | Adds a search bar and conflict filter to the controls menu, so you can quickly find keybinds and spot clashing keys. |
| ImmediatelyFast | Speeds up rendering of things like the HUD, text, entities and maps. Gives an FPS boost, especially in busy areas. |
| Inventory Profiles Next | Adds inventory sorting, auto-refill of tools and blocks in your hotbar, and other inventory management tools. |
| Just Enough Items | Shows a searchable list of all items next to your inventory, including their crafting recipes and uses. |
| Leave My Bars Alone | Keeps your hunger and XP bars visible while riding a horse or other mount. The jump bar only appears when you’re actually jumping. |
| More Chat History | Increases how many chat messages are saved, so you can scroll back much further in the chat. |
| Quick pack | Loads datapacks and resource packs much faster, especially large ones. Shortens loading times for the server and for players. |
| Shulker Box Tooltip | Shows the contents of a shulker box in its tooltip when you hover over it, so you don’t have to place it down to see what’s inside. |
| Simple Fog | Lets you adjust or turn off fog, for example in water, lava or bad weather, so you can see further. |
| Simple Voice Animations | Add-on for Simple Voice Chat that animates player heads while they talk, for example with a squish or an opening jaw. Every player can pick their own style (default key: J). |
| Sodium | A powerful rendering optimisation mod that greatly improves FPS and reduces stuttering. The base for most other performance mods. |
| Streams Reflowing | Adds natural flowing streams and small lakes to world generation, with water that actually runs downhill and forms cascades. Gives the landscape much more life. |
| Studious Keybinds | Adds an interactive keyboard to the Controls menu (Options → Controls → Keyboard), where you can hover over a key to see its actions and click to rebind it. Colour-coded outlines show free keys and conflicting bindings at a glance. |
| Symbol Chat | Adds a symbol picker to the chat and signs, so you can easily use special characters, emoji-like symbols and fonts. |
| Underlay | Lets you place carpets, slabs, trapdoors, rails and similar blocks underneath other blocks like chests, beds, stairs and torches. Great for detailed builds. |
| Zoomify | Adds a smooth, configurable zoom key, similar to OptiFine’s zoom. Great for looking at distant builds. |
Extra's
Extra visuals, sounds and small tweaks. Pick the ones you like, or skip them if you want a lighter pack.
| Mod | Description |
|---|---|
| Ambient Environment | Adds subtle colour variation to biome colours, such as grass and foliage, so landscapes look less uniform and more natural. |
| Armor Stands | Lets you place, pose and dress armor stands through an easy in-game editor, just by right-clicking them. Includes preset poses, undo/redo and copy/paste. |
| Atmosfera | Adds ambient background sounds per biome, such as birds in forests and wind in mountains, making the world sound more alive. |
| Bobby | Saves chunks you’ve visited on your own computer, so you can see further than the server’s render distance. |
| Capes | Shows capes from other cape services (like OptiFine and MinecraftCapes) on players, and lets you display your own. |
| Dense Flowers | Makes flower fields look denser by showing multiple flowers per block. Purely visual and client-side. |
| Dynamic FPS | Lowers your FPS when the game is in the background or minimised, saving power and reducing heat and fan noise. |
| Entity Culling | Skips rendering entities and block entities (like chests) that are hidden behind walls. Gives a big FPS boost in bases and towns. |
| Footprint Particles | Leaves footprints on the ground as you and other players and mobs walk around. |
| Ji AFK Cinematic | When you go AFK, hides the HUD, adds cinematic black bars and slowly moves the camera around your character for a movie-like view. |
| NotEnoughAnimations | Adds extra third-person player animations, such as eating, holding maps and using items, that vanilla doesn’t show. |
| Presence Footsteps | Gives footsteps more detailed and varied sounds depending on the block you’re walking on and the type of mob. |
| Searchstats | Adds a search bar to the statistics screen, so you can quickly find a specific stat. |
| Subtle Effects | Adds small ambient particle effects to the world, like fireflies, steam from hot blocks and dust in the air. Makes the world feel more atmospheric without changing gameplay. |
| Swinging Lanterns | Makes hanging lanterns swing gently in the wind and when you walk past them. |
| Visuality | Adds small extra particles to the world, such as sparkles on ores and drips from wet blocks, for extra atmosphere. |
| World Alive | Adds particle-based ambient wildlife like birds, butterflies and insects, plus effects such as desert mirages. Purely client-side. |
Server Side Enhancements
Server-Side Mods
These mods run on the server itself. You don’t need to install anything for them; they work automatically when you join. Some of them, like Simple Voice Chat, also have a client part that is included in the Essentials pack above.
| Mod | Description |
|---|---|
| AppleSkin | Shows how much hunger and saturation a food item restores, and displays your current saturation on the hunger bar. Makes it much easier to pick the right food. |
| Armor Stands | Lets you place, pose and dress armor stands through an easy in-game editor, just by right-clicking them. Includes preset poses, undo/redo and copy/paste. |
| Boids | Gives fish and other water mobs flocking behaviour, so they swim together in natural-looking schools instead of wandering around randomly. |
| Clumps | Groups nearby experience orbs into a single orb. Reduces lag around farms and mob grinders and makes collecting XP instant. |
| Connectivity Mod | Fixes a range of networking issues such as timeouts and packet-size errors, so players get disconnected less often, especially on modded servers. |
| Crops Love Rain | Makes crops grow faster while it’s raining. Works on soil crops like wheat and carrots, as well as bamboo, saplings and sugar cane. |
| Enhanced Groups | Server-side add-on for Simple Voice Chat that adds extra features to voice chat groups, such as automatically joining players into a group. |
| Fishing Leveling | Adds a fishing progression system: the more you fish, the higher your level. Higher levels mean faster bites, less rod durability use and extra loot (open the menu with K). |
| Ledger | Logs block changes, item transfers and other actions on the server. Lets admins look up who did what and roll back griefing. |
| Lithium | A server-side performance mod that optimises game logic like mob AI, physics and block ticking. Improves server performance without changing vanilla behaviour. |
| Mooshroom tweaks | Lets both red and brown mooshrooms spawn naturally in mushroom fields, instead of brown ones being almost impossible to find. |
| More Culling | Skips rendering blocks and faces you can’t actually see, such as hidden leaves. Gives a noticeable FPS boost, especially in forests. |
| NetherPortalFix | Makes Nether portals send you back to the portal you came from, instead of linking to the nearest portal. Very handy when several players build portals close together. |
| No Chat Reports | Strips the cryptographic signatures from chat messages, so messages on this server can’t be reported to Mojang. Also removes the related warning pop-ups. |
| Nocturnal Bats | Allows bats to spawn on the surface at night instead of only in dark caves, making the overworld feel more alive after sunset. |
| Quick pack | Loads datapacks and resource packs much faster, especially large ones. Shortens loading times for the server and for players. |
| SDLink | Links the Minecraft chat to our Discord server, so messages, joins and other events show up in both places. |
| Shulker Box Tooltip | Shows the contents of a shulker box in its tooltip when you hover over it, so you don’t have to place it down to see what’s inside. |
| Simple Voice Animations | Add-on for Simple Voice Chat that animates player heads while they talk, for example with a squish or an opening jaw. Every player can pick their own style (default key: J). |
| Spark | A performance profiler for the server. Helps admins find out what is causing lag so it can be fixed quickly. |
| Status | Lets you set a status such as “Do not disturb”, “Open to chat” or “Recording”, which is shown to other players. Also marks players who are AFK. |
| Streams Reflowing | Adds natural flowing streams and small lakes to world generation, with water that actually runs downhill and forms cascades. Gives the landscape much more life. |
| Subtle Effects | Adds small ambient particle effects to the world, like fireflies, steam from hot blocks and dust in the air. Makes the world feel more atmospheric without changing gameplay. |
| Underlay | Lets you place carpets, slabs, trapdoors, rails and similar blocks underneath other blocks like chests, beds, stairs and torches. Great for detailed builds. |
| Voice Chat Interaction | Makes your voice in Simple Voice Chat audible to the game itself, so talking can trigger sculk sensors and wake the Warden. Whisper in the Deep Dark! |
Server-Side Datapacks
These datapacks are active in the server world and add small features and decorations on top of vanilla. Like the server-side mods, they need no installation on your end.
| Datapack | Description |
|---|---|
| Air Gap Fix | Makes fences, walls, glass panes and bars visually connect to signs, banners, item frames, heads and other attachables placed on them, removing the odd floating gap. Look straight at the block while placing, or it won’t connect. |
| Banner Bedsheets | Put any banner design on a bed as a custom bedsheet. Crouch and place a banner at the foot of a bed to apply it; break the bed to remove it. |
| Banner Flags | Place banners horizontally as flags on fences, walls, chains, bars and other pole-like blocks. Flags can be enlarged, rotated and even made to wave in the wind. |
| Gardeners Dream | Lets you put any plant in flower pots, decorated pots, player heads and half-pots. Survival friendly, and no resource pack needed. |
| Vanilla Tweaks Datapacks | A bundle of small quality-of-life datapacks from Vanilla Tweaks that keep the vanilla feel. The full list of included packs can be found below. |
| Villagers Rebalanced | Mojang’s official experimental villager trade rebalance. It changes which trades villagers offer, for example making librarian enchantments depend on the village biome. |
Included Vanilla Tweaks datapacks
- Decorative-cosmetic: wandering trades, silence mobs, player head drops, more mob heads, mini blocks, armor statues
- Convenience: unlock all recipes, painting picker, cauldron mud, cauldron concrete
- Gameplay-changes: anti enderman grief, confetti creepers, graves
- Informative: track statistics, track raw statistics, afk display
